2004 Club Tournament  July 18

New Zealander Andrew Birse took the men`s title at his first attempt beating American Chris Carroll 6-2 6-2. He is probably the strongest player the club has had and conceded just 6 games in all his matches. In the ladies final Debbie Keat got her revenge over Vanessa Brown the defending champion 6-4 6-2.

In the men`s doubles Mik Sorboen won his fourth consecutive title with new partner Chris Carroll. They defeated Andrew Birse and Andrew Moffat in a fine final 7-6 6-4. In the ladies doubles Vanessa Brown and June Stowell retained their title with a 6-1 6-3 defeat of Debbie Keat and Lisette Simcock.

Andrew Moffat and June Stowell successfully defended their mixed title defeating Toby Barton and Millie Rowe 6-3 5-7 6-3. At 12 years old Millie was the youngest ever finalist in a senior event at Richmond. Earlier in the day Millie had won the junior girls by beating Fiona Davidson 6-1 6-3. Ross Macintosh won the boys event with a convincing 6-0 6-1 defeat of Thomas Williams. However Thomas won the U-11 final against Harrison Tricker 6-1 6-3. Thanks to Andy Jenkins for organising the tournament so efficiently.
